I contracted Steve from New View Construction to build my home in Sumner. I didn't want to sign up to a prescriptive list of products and finishes, I wanted to be involved throughout the process and be able to make choices as the build progressed. Steve understood this and was happy to advise and help with those choices.
I am extremely happy with my home and working with Steve throughout the build process was incredibly easy, so much so that I am now contracting Steve and New View to construct a light commercial build for me. I would genuinely recommend Steve as a builder of high quality, good health and safety processes and great ethical standards.

The decision to build a new home and leave our earthquake damaged home was a difficult one. One made all the more easier with the help of Steve and Jane. The thought of starting from scratch to design our new home was daunting. Working with Steve and the architects at Peter Dunbar Architectural Design enabled us to quickly come up with a concept that delivered all of our ‘must have’ items and many of the ‘nice to have’ items and within the agreed budget.
It was a pleasure working with Steve, a passionate builder, with a genuine desire to deliver a home that we are very pleased with. The build process was made stress free by Steve and we had every confidence in Steve and his team, enough confidence, to take a 5 week overseas holiday whilst construction was underway.
Steve is very approachable and always took the time to answer questions and listen to our suggestions.
We thoroughly enjoy our new home and would do it all over again if we had to……with Steve and New View Construction of course!

Our lovely old home was destroyed by the earthquakes of 2011. We had lived there for 30 years.
After five years of insurance wrangles, it was finally time to rebuild. Steve Pike and New View came to the rescue. Steve was fantastic! Everything went like clockwork. Steve heads a good team of builders and leads by example. Subcontractors were on site as planned, everything went like clockwork, and workmanship was excellent.
And the process was made easier because everyone was hard working, and pleasant and congenial company.
We asked Steve if there would be any chance of having the house ready in seven months, when family from Europe were arriving. Miracle of miracles, the house was finished in seven months!
We are so proud of our beautiful new home built by Steve. It is the same footprint as our old home, but so much more comfortable. Absolutely perfect!
Designed by Stephen Fitzgerald, Architect, it is light, airy and we so enjoy living in it. We find nothing to fault at all.
We would have no hesitation in highly recommending New View Construction and Steve Pike as an excellent builder.
